Design is the creation of a plan for the construction of an object or system, and it portrays different meanings in different fields. The word design is referring to the field of industrial design where physical products are created through a series of design process and principles. Industrial designers not only focus on the appearance of a product, but also on how it functions, how it is manufactured and ultimately the value and experience it provides to users. Bachelor of Design (Honours) in Industrial Design is a three (3) years programme developed for students who are passionate in arts and design. This programme allows student to choose elective courses from three different specialization, namely furniture design, product design and transport design, that makes this program different from the current programs in the market. Throughout three years students will be encouraged to explore design and development process in relation to scales of manufacture with a focus on usability, ergonomics, aesthetics, materials, manufacturing, and production.
